Concept:

Travelling – this is more than just a change of scenery. It means immersing yourself in the smells, the colours and feelings of another world. PASSAGEN, the customer magazine from Hapag-Loyd Cruises, whisks the reader away on a 48-page voyage of discovery, whether as a travel companion, or a pre- or post-holiday accompaniment for all occasions.
Via authentic stories, sensual essays, fascinating portraits and spectacular images, PASSAGEN recreates the spirit of unique journeys and invokes the feeling that unites all travellers: the joy of discovery and the excitement of an expedition into the unknown, be it geographically, culturally or culinary.
The readers of PASSAGEN have a high affinity for enjoyment and luxury. Four times a year, PASSAGEN offers inspiration for the most noble form of travel; cruising. The average age of both customers and readers is 55 years old, and PASSAGEN readers place importance on quality in all spheres of life, possessing the financial means to fulfil their demands. They appreciate things of lasting value and for them travelling is about broadening their wealth of experience.
In a survey, over 40% said that they spent EUR7,500 or more annually on travelling. Alongside the appreciation of the readers – 70% of those surveyed read PASSAGEN for at least an hour, over 40% pass it on to others – PASSAGEN was also rewarded in 2004 and 2007 at the ‘Best of Corporate Publishing’ awards.
